Out comes the wit

It is so fun and amazing to watch our cuddlebug turn from an observer to an interactive toddler!

What happened to us being able to talk about stuff without her knowing what we were saying?!?

I'm already having to spell or mouth things out, like 'diaper change'. :-)

Some of the latest:

-Walks to places when asked (like high chair, bedroom for diaper change)

-Calls me Darla (Dahla)- gasp! since she hears it more often than 'mommy' when the daycare kids are around!

- The other day she was super squirmy in the store, so I put her in the big part of the cart. She kept standing up (yes, I realized this would happen), so I taught her how to sit on command. The only problem was that she thought it was a FUN game and would POP up every time she sat down. At least it made many shoppers smile as they watch our popcorn game. We didn't break any time records for shopping as half of our time was spent stopped as a kid laughed her head off doing the sit stand game. Now for a video of the synchronized dog/child sit command.

- Points to her head, ears, hair, toes, teeth, hands, eyes, tummy, and mouth when asked.

- Says lots of words and tries to copy lots of words...eggs, horse, moo, numnum, nono, mama, dada, darla, boom, dog

- Points to people when asked where they are. She has figured out how to point w' her index finger. 

- We're still working on the backwards wave thing! Her palm faces herself when she waves. She waves at ANY loud noise. Her hand never stops when we're in a parking lot.

- She has a humongous personal language. Last night we were at Mom 'n Dad's, and Dad was heading out with two red buckets of milk for the calves. She exclaimed over them for a LONG time with tons of expression; pointing at each one, and jabbering up a storm.

- Her preferred mode of transportation is definitely a walk now. She's always in such a hurry that she tumbles a LOT, but then says 'BOOM!', gets back up, and continues on her merry way.

- She knows how to be a stinker! She is an expert at doing things that she knows are naughty and then shaking her head vigorously while saying 'NONO! (like throwing food on the floor, pulling hair, and getting into Sakari's food and water)

- She LOVES to cuddle. I usually ask for a cuddle when I pick her up and she usually happily obliges! It's not uncommon to watch her hug her toys and blankets a lot, also. She loves to flop onto Sakari's fluffy side.
