Perfectly Average
Results from today's 12 month appt:
Length: 29" - average- 44 %
Weight: 19 lbs, 3 oz - low- 22%
Head: 18.25"- big- 83%
Combine her normal length, big head, and small weight, and she's right smack in the middle.
Good thing I didn't know what a scream fest the hemoglobin test would bring. At least the results were good!

We're De-lited
We've been keeping our eyes open for a bike trailer for quite some time. One popped out at me from Craigslist yesterday, so I packed the wee one in the car and we tromped off to snag our treasure:
The whole family took it for a trial run last night. We biked to the library and returned some overdue books (told ya, said the huz. oops said the wife) Anyway, it was awesome! Rhya was overjoyed to have her own little abode. She was wide eyed and jabbery the whole time.
In other happenings, we've gotten to see Great Auntie Bertha three times since she's been on her home visit! We shared memories and made many new ones.
We even got to see cuz Cheri and her cute sidekicks this past weekend. Those boys are the cutest things ever with those buzz haircuts and pug noses.

Wow. I'm a little behind
Cold, daycare kids, special mtg company (Duane T!), daycare kids, birthday party, special mtgs, daycare kids, mastitis....guess lot's has happened since posting last! Where on earth do I begin? Maybe I just won't. :-)
Even though I've been sick, it's been a GREAT couple of weeks!
What on earth would I do without family?! I have so many wonderful sisters, bros, in laws, aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins, etc...Rhya's b-day party was a reminder. There were 22 ppl in our small house, and every single person made the day extra special. Rhya enjoyed herself to the MAX! She just loved interacting with everyone, opening gifts, and munching carefully on her cake.

Schedule of Events
Last Sat:
Crystal's funeral in the morning, back to the farm for some good ole' fashioned fun in the afternoon:
Sun:
Overflowed our cups at Eau Claire Sp. Mtg, then off to Durand to pick up these Black Australorps that I found on Craigslist:
Note: Mom 'n Dad took 8, we took 2, and Mike 'n Kristina will take 2. yippee for eggs!! (and gotta love the chicken personality. They are the coolest thing- Sakari just stares at them in fascination)
Mon: Rhya's BIRTHDAY!!!! We didn't do anything special except for some pizza sharing at 8pm (it was a bit of a FULL day, with getting the chickens set up and then watching the dc kids)
Tues: It was so wonderful out that we banished ourselves to the great outdoors for most of the day. The sun and breeze urged us on a long, refreshing run through the country roads. Then we moseyed on down to main street and stopped by the new Chinese joint. We took it to a grassy patch by the banks of the flooded Mississippi, only to discover that there were NO forks and NO napkins- JUST rice and sesame chicken. It was too good to package back up, so we were a sticky mess by the time we were done!

Blink. There goes a year.
Happy birthday to our little peanut/pumpkin/sunshine/crazy girl/goofball/cuddlebug!!!!!!!!!
One year ago you were fresh outa the oven!!! Now you are a bustling, jabbering, lively little thing. Your bubbly personality charms us in new ways ALL THE TIME. :-)
You are so eager to discover the world, whether it be facing your nose into the breeze, chowing on new num nums, opening new cupboard doors, practicing new words, climbing higher and faster, sifting your fingers through fresh chicken feed...where does one stop? There's no such thing as stopping in the eyes of a one year old!

April 7, 2010 - two thousand TEN, that is....
My due date came and went. Nothing but rib kicks and back aches.
Fast forward 365 days, and that li'l rib kicker finally decided that those legs are for WALKING!
We practiced by the mirror today. I put my hands around her waist so she had minimal assistance. We were showing Daddy our accomplishments tonight, and all of a sudden she turned and went three whole steps by herself. Guess what the motivation was? Her paci, of course.

We've got a hugger
She doesn't save the hugs only for the stuffed animals, either. She loves to wrap her little arms around our necks as hard as she can.
Can't forget the kisses, either! Wet, slobbery, food filled; you name it, she's got it! They're especially fun when her face looks like this:
Word Listing
Dah- dog
Du- duck
I!!- Hi
Dada, or Daddy
Mama
I da!- Hi, dog!
No, no (her newest discovery that she loves to use)

Sure Sign of Spring
1 hour and 4 gallons later, the backyard is free from doggy doodoo! My spine is still de-curving from all of the stooping!
Good thing we love our rescue dog! This pic was taken last week. Both dogs were adopted through Braveheart Rescue in Hastings, MN- highly recommended if you're looking for a pooch to call you own.
Rhya experienced slinkies for the first time. Auntie Kayla sent up an early b-day present that consisted of a slinky, touch/feel book, dog toy (since R is obsessed w' them), a mango, and grapefruit (for the lucky parents).
