I have NOT been a girl of many outings lately! The ONLY time the car left the garage was to go to the library and the grocery store this afternoon. Judging from how excited Rhya was, you would've thought that we were going to a water park.
Speaking of water, we met Terry and Sarah at Black River Falls last Saturday. 'Jeanie from Oregon' was visiting them. We rented some canoes and went cruising down the river. Nate, Rhya, and I shared a canoe with Jeanie. Terry, Sarah, and their doglets occupied the other canoe. We had so much fun we wondered why we hadn't thought of the 'meet in the middle' concept before!
We attempted a supper picnic, and enjoyed ourselves until the sky decided that we needed a shower. The fun only continued in our trusty 05 Camry with four girls in the backseat and two guys in the front. The guys were incredibly grossed out that we made them eat out of the same container of Chicken Caesar Salad complete with half grilled chicken. We did not get salmonella, despite the sky's attempt.
Getting back to our lame-o week. There were NO daycare kids this entire week! This house actually looks like someone cleaned it. The weeds took a hike to the compost site (NOT on their own, mind you). Food has not been in shortage. We are currently enjoying the workers! They came in time for meeting last night, and are staying through Saturday. Rhya thinks that the extra attention is superb. She's constantly carting books to Mary and 'asking' her to read them. She loves to go into Jennifer's room and jabber about all of the new items she spots.
Speaking of Rhya, her latest thing is to point to anyone or anything and ask "Whasat? (It sounds like Whasaaaaaaat?). She pointed to the librarian today and asked the question, so I said, "librarian". Poor guy probably felt like an animal or something. Rhya made up for it later when she brought a book up to him and starting mooing at the picture of the cow. He was impressed at all of her various animal noises. That will have to be the next video.
Time for my next outing. I'm looking forward to taking Sakari for a relaxing run before the workers get back from Alma Young's funeral. Too bad my stomach is so full of grilled hamburgers and fresh buns. Burp. Sideache.
I'm WAITING to see the pictures of the guys eating out of their dish... or has Nate made that off limits to put on the blog? :)
